Proportional Graphics is a project initiated by James Langdon and Simon Knebl — a practice-based research into the use of surface area as a metric for reasoning band size of graphics on pages. My collaboration contributed to the further development of this alternative research through the creation of equalised typefaces; These were developed using a self-written tool 1. that automated the equilibrium-based design process.

The project had two physical manifestations: a lecture a lecture 2. given at Typography Theory Practice & a small portion of James’ later published work called typohypergraphicobject. 3. I did not contribute in the latter however for the presentation I tweaked the previously developed drawing tool 1. so that it could assist James in the creation of proportional slides.
